This model has a water proof coil and can be used in shallow water where most Gold Rings are found. This unit can be set to detect all Metals or set for Motion Discrimination to distinguish Ferrous and non Ferrous metals. Customer Review: Awsome metal detector
After researching all the other brands I choose this one because it had a nice digital easy to read display,not a complicated needle type. After a week of using it I bought another one for my wife. The only complaints I have is with the battery life of around 4 to 5 hours of use. I did have one instance when it started cutting on and off with certain movemints but after changing out the batteries I think it will be ok now, I hope. The rod joint isn’t very steady but after wrapping electrical tape around the male part of the shaft it now feels pretty secure. I have found plenty of change and even my telephone lines at around a foot deep! Be very carefull digging in your yard!

Works fine around home. I haven’t tried any “treasure hunting” at the park but it picks out fairly small objects. I do like the armrest. It takes the strain out of holding the pickup out in front.
